No Pants Day rocked so much this year. We got reports and pictures and videos from all over the globe. We'll update the site as soon as we've properly recovered.

No Pants Day rapidly approaches! Here's some stuff you might want to know:
- Shirts from SpreadShirt.com can be had here.
- High quality flyers and raw images can be had here.
- If you take pictures, upload them to Flickr with the tag 'nopantsday'. If you don't have a flickr account, send them to pics AT nopantsday.com
- The celebration in Austin will be a part of the Austin Improv Collective's improv shows at the Hideout on Friday. The Hideout is located at 617 Congress Ave. Shows are at 8, 10, and 11:30pm.
- The celebration in Atlanta, GA will be a pantsless pub meeting (possibly pub crawl?) starting at Trackside in Decatur, Ga, next to Agnes Scott College. Also, people sans pants on bikes will be given extra kudos and will make things easier going from pub to pub with many folks. Meet at Trackside around 9-ish pm

There is only one week left until No Pants Day!
Word is flooding in from around the globe about parties and celebrations. This is the year when No Pants Day has truly become a spontaneous, universally observed holiday.

Sorry for the delay in posting the winners of our No Pants Day contest, but good things come to those who wait and this will certainly be no exception.
What a No Pants Day this was! And what a response to the photo contest! Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine we'd see such
works of no-pants day art as:
"Man Sets Pants on Fire"
"Virtually Pantsless"
"Pantsless Power Pose"
and "The Lovely Pirate Lasses"
We received hundreds of photos from all over the U.S. and the world.
We received photos from Kentucky to Hawaii,
from Michigan
to Maryland, and from Canada to England.
But alas! A choice must, in fact, be made for the definitive No Pants Day picture. And so it has. Those of us here at nopantsday.com have deliberated day and night and are at last ready to announce the official winner. In addition,
we will also be awarding a small runner-up prize. So without further ado...
THE RUNNER UP
One sure way to get in our good graces? Risk an accidental arrest. Another way? Have a jackass friend who will exploit your near-arrest for his own amusement and gain. That is why we are proud to present the runner-up,
Bryan and Ryan and their cross-country, pantsless roadtrip!
THE WINNER
If the risk of getting arrested lands you the runner-up slot, then the risk of getting court martialed most definitely wins the day. One of the first pictures we received, it remained the shot to beat throughout the contest. Our winner, operating
out of an undisclosed location, is Eric 'Captain Awesome'! Menacing, highly-trained, free...American!
Captain Awesome will be receiving $50 in underwear and Bryan and Ryan will walk away with $0.50 worth. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who participated! |

 Well that about wraps it up for No Pants Day 2005, I reckon. You guys are fabulous. We got a ton of pictures from all over the US, and a few pictures from around the world (Britain, Sweden, etc..). And that picture from Iraq a few news items back just blows my feeble little mind.
This is the first year for me that it really felt like I was just reminding people that it was No Pants Day coming up instead of having to explain the whole thing to them. And that's just great.
On the flipside, this year I also paid close attention to the reactions of people encountering the holiday for the first time. And you know what? People love it. It makes them smile. They stop and chat, take some pictures, honk their horns, and occasionly drop trou and join us. And the holiday spreads a bit further.
I also learned that being pantsless doesn't make me a better mini-golf player, but it makes defeat a little easier to take.
